PRENATAL CLASSES

The VNAPC offers FREE classes for all prospective parents in the VNA of Pottawattamie County areas of service.

Classes are held once a month, alternating monthly between the Breastfeeding and the Newborn classes listed below. These classes are held at the VNAPC office at 300 West Broadway Suite #10, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Please call (712) 328-2636 or email info@vnapc.org for more information or to sign up for classes.

HOME VISITS

The goal of the Maternal Child Service at the VNAPC is to assist the clients to raise healthy, happy children. To meet this goal we offer a free skilled home visit to all new parents who reside in Pottawattamie County. This visit is done within the first two weeks of life. We will assess the infants needs, and assist with educational needs of the new parents. We instruct on normal newborn behavior, breastfeeding, feeding options, parenting, safety seats, and adapting to the newborn. If there is a medical need, physicians can also order medically necessary visits, which will also be made by our trained maternal/child staff.
